Social Network Your Favourite Dog – Cooldog.org Review

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

You won’t believe this, my friend and veteran programmer from China Kurt Qian built a web site for his dog, and dogs in general called Cooldogs.org

My name is Darren Chabluk, I am a dog lover and I told Kurt I’d have his site indexed in the North American google network in a few days after this article is written.   I own two cats right now, if he opens a site like this for cats I will give Silver and Freedom permission to join.  But I will let all my dog owner friends and family know about this site thru facebook as well.

Kurt is very serious about every project he works on, and Cooldog.org is the place for all Cool Dogs around the world.  Thru the years I’ve owned 3 Yorkshire terriers over time, Trixie, Buffy, and Poncho;  One after another.   Poncho passed back in the summer of 2000 and I still think of him.

Do you own a dog?  Do you know someone who owns a dog?  Would you like to get a little puppy of your own?  Dog training, dog grooming, playing with your dog, selling dogs, buying dogs, adopting dogs, these are all the perfect topics that I know Kurt will cover in depth in one way or another for a powerful user experience for you and your dog.  From a German Sheppard, Black Lab, to a Miniature Poodle or Heinz 57 you need to check out and join CoolDog now!

If you have your own dog related website and would like to exchange links with Kurt just contact him by doing a search for on facebook Kurt Qian.  Kurt found me on facebook and now your dog can find him at http://CoolDog.org

Authentic Mexican Tacos

Laredo Texas exit 13 roadside vendor Tacos!
Laredo Texas exit 13 roadside vendor Tacos!

Authentic Mexican Tacos

Has this ever happened to you!  You’ve got a full fridge or cooler in your vehicle on a road trip but you just can’t pass up one of your favourite foods somewhere along the way?!  That is exactly what happened to me as you can see in the picture…

Exit 13 southbound on Interstate 35 in Laredo Texas, just 13 miles from Nuevo Laredo Mexico.  There are about 3 mobile taco stands set up till late, but the one I buy from is the one closest to the Flying J pump islands on the south side of the entrance road to the J’s parking lot.

Across the street there is a Taco Bell, but let me tell you one thing.  Taco Bell is not real Mexican food, not even close.  If you think ANY of the big chain fast food places produce real genuine Mexican food you obviously have not tried the real thing.  It’s like comparing 10K gold plated medallions to 24k solid gold bars

What you see in this picture is a corn (hard) taco, with the shell fried on a hot pan with all the fresh fixing’s;  Including everything you see: lettuce, tomato, fresh sauteed beef, a healthy slice of avocado on each, freshly cut lime, mmmm…..  Just like I had in Nuevo Laredo Mexico in August 2007.

Wash is down with an ice cold (glass bottle) of coca cola, choice of 2 homemade hot sauces (not shown) and you too will be singing La Bamba, Mexico’s National Anthem (just kidding its not their anthem)

Tornado Season In Southern USA

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

A couple nights ago Souix Falls, South Dakota was on watch for a big snow blizzard.  That would mean cold weather in the region, enouph to produce snow at least.  Well, when I got the message on the satellite radio – it was time to head out of dodge;  Southbound on I29 after a nights sleep!

Today, as I start driving from Towanda, Kansas and all the way to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the wind was intense and warm in Towanda.  The truck if not with a fully loaded trailer, may have got blown over, possibly.  There was no tornado, it was a clear blue sky but the winds were warm and they were strong.

May 1st to May 7th is the peak of the Tornado season here in Tornado Alley.  We are quickly approaching this time of the year, less than a month away for the peak Tornado Weather.  Considering the conditions of my current tour of America – A potential snow storm and only a short drive away very strong warm winds, well, when these cold and warm winds meet that would spell T-O-R-N-A-D-O conditions.

Heading down to Laredo Texas with a mere 10 hours of driving to go.  One days worth of driving.  Will let you know if I run into any twisters.  A level 5 Tornado is the largest on the Fuji scale, up to a mile wide and 200mph winds.  Enouph power to easily take a fully loaded semi truck and toss it right across the highway.  There is usually at least 1 level 5 per year in this region.
